Desde su nacimiento el año 2006, el microblogging Twitter -que permite escribir en sólo 140 caracteres lo que está sucediendo-, ha tenido un rápido crecimiento, sumando millones de usuarios alrededor del mundo. 05.11.2009, 08:46 Debido a este éxito y como una forma de expandirlo, el sitio completo desde ahora se puede utilizar en español, además del inglés y japonés, los idiomas habilitados anteriormente.Biz Stone, uno de los fundadores del sitio, señaló en un post escrito precisamente en español, que la manera de habilitar el idioma es simple. "Puedes cambiar el idioma en la Configuración o visitar Twitter.com y cambiar la configuración del idioma en la opción situada en la esquina inferior derecha".En el mismo blog se indica que la traducción del sitio se originó gracias a la colaboración de los voluntarios hispanoparlantes que respondieron al llamado de la compañía a traducir Twitter en varios idiomas hace sólo algunas semanas.Según el sitio Cnet, esta noticia podría ser un intento de la compañía para seguir creciendo a nivel mundial, en medio de acusaciones de que su tráfico se ha estancado.
