La lengua aymara sumó 3.379 nuevos vocablos nuevos y rescatados por expertos del Instituto de Lengua y Cultura de la Nación Aymara (ILCNA), en un período de un año y cuatro meses. Estos términos formarán parte de las cuatro áreas del currículo regionalizado aymara para los colegios.

Khituña (tajador), yatiquiri (alumno), wawa jaytasiña uta (guardería) son algunos de los nuevos vocablos. "No solo hay creaciones, hay mejoramientos y modificaciones", dijo la técnica del ILCNA, dependiente del Ministerio de Educación, Reina Huanca, según publica este jueves La Razón en su edición impresa.

El Censo 2012 registró a 1.191.352 habitantes identificados como aymaras, mientras que los quechuas suman 1.281.116 personas. Los aymaras conforman una cultura que habita en Bolivia (La Paz, Oruro, Potosí y Cochabamba), además de Argentina y Perú.
