Diario de SevillaEl escritor José María Merino y el cineasta José Luis Borau fueron elegidos ayer nuevos académicos de RAE. Borau ocupará el sillón B, vacante tras el fallecimiento de Fernando Fernán-Gómez, y el escritor José María Merino ocupará la plaza de Claudio Guillen.José Luis Borau, cuya candidatura fue presentada por Antonio Fernández de Alba, Emilio Lledó y Antonio Mingote, recibió el respaldo mayoritario de la Academia frente al otro aspirante a la plaza de Fernán-Gómez, el periodista catalán Félix de Azúa.La candidatura de José Luis Merino al sillón m de la Academia fue presentada por Luis Mateo Díez, Arturo Pérez-Reverte y Álvaro Pombo.Merino aseguró que esta decisión es un "reconocimiento a su obra" y a toda una carrera dedicada a las Letras. El escritor añadió que su objetivo en la Academia será "trabajar con las palabras y con el diccionario". "Me han dicho que se trabaja muy a gusto con los compañeros y que cada parcela está muy limitada y los especialistas en cada materia estamos juntos", señaló.Este escritor, considerado como uno de los grandes cuentistas de la literatura española, definió como un "honor" sustituir en el sillón m a Claudio Guillén, un "hombre renacentista", capaz de hablar de música, historia o literatura en sus ensayos, aunque su especialidad fuera la Literatura Comparada.
