La lengua española volverá a impartirse este año las escuelas públicas de Filipinas, anunció este lunes el secretario de Educación, Jesli Lapus.Dentro del 'Programa Especial de Lenguas Extranjeras', que se aplicará al principio del curso escolar que comienza en junio, el español se impartirá en determinados institutos para "dar a los estudiantes una competencia lingüística diversa para el mundo laboral global", dijo Lapus."También se pretende que conozcan y entiendan otras culturas", añadió.El español sólo se impartirá en las clases especiales donde los estudiantes ya dominan el inglés y han mostrado una aptitud para aprender otra lengua extranjera, dijo.En 1987 Filipinas, una ex colonia española, abolió el español como lengua oficial, así como la obligación de estudiarlo en la escuela.Desde entonces, este idioma dejó de utilizarse y hoy en día los más hablados son el inglés y las lenguas locales.
