    La z se reemplaza por c en la combinación con e, i en la mayoría de las palabras españolas: placita.

    En español, lo normal es escribir c delante de i y de e. Algunas palabras conservan la zeta por razones etimológicas. Almuercito, crucecita, enzima, zigoto o cigoto.

Cuando en la grafía de un diminutivo aparece la secuencia «sito», debe tomar en cuenta que se trata de la s presente en la palabra base a la que se le agregó el sufijo -ito, a: Luis > Luisito; Luisa > Luisita y no de un supuesto sufijo *-sito.

    El sufijo para formar diminutivos es -ito; en ciertos casos, toma la forma -cito. Solamente si la palabra base incluye la -s, por agregado de -ito, el diminutivo terminará en -sito. Así: hombre > hombrecito; dios, diosito; casa > casita.

    La ortografía de ambos diminutivos es bosquecito y bosquecillo. Ambos son sinónimos, y la elección del sufijo tiene que ver con los usos y costumbres de cada variedad lingüística.
