    Rayo y zapallo son, efectivamente, ejemplos de rima consonante. Esta se define por la coincidencia de fonemas, sin importar su ortografía.

    La rima consiste en la repetición de sonidos a partir de la última vocal acentuada. La rima puede ser asonante o consonante. Asonante es aquella en la que se repiten las vocales a partir de la última acentuada. Consonante es aquella en la que se repiten todos los sonidos a partir de la última vocal acentuada.Un ejemplo de rima asonante es: canto, blando, talco.De rima consonante: plato, rato, ato, mato.
