    Soy colombiano de nacimiento y residente en España. ¿Qué tan correcta es la expresión colombiana: «Llegó primero que yo» en comparación con la utilizada en España: «Llegó antes que yo»?

    Nuestra respuesta:
    La expresión es correcta. El ordinal no temporal primero da lugar a la locución temporal primero que, aunque en la actualidad es de menor frecuencia de uso que antes que, al menos en el español peninsular. No obstante, le presentamos algunos ejemplos tomados del Corpus diacrónico del español, (www.rae.es), todos referidos a España:
     
    Desde la eternidad estoy fundada, desde antes de los siglos, primero que fuese hecha la tierra
    (Vicente Molina, Misal completo en castellano, Valencia, 1945).
     
    ¿Hunden tu juventud primero que tu vida? (José Hierro, Quinta del 42, Madrid, 1952).
