Periciar no está consignado en ninguno de los diccionarios generales de la lengua, tampoco en el Diccionario de neologismos on line (http://obneo.iula.upf.edu/spes/) de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra ni en la base de datos del Instituto de Verbología Hispánica (http://www.verbolog.com/igca.htm).En los corpus disponibles en línea (Real Academia, Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes y Corpus del español de Mark Davies), aparece un único registro de la palabra: en CREA - Corpus de referencia del español actual (http://www.rae.es). Se trata de una cita de 1997 de prensa en Chile: «El 7 de junio me pidieron que integrara el grupo para periciar los restos del conscripto junto al odontólogo Luis Ciocca y al perito en identificación de restos Eugenio Aspillaga, además del doctor Alberto Teke.» El verbo, pues, no está asentado en nuestra lengua.
