Quisiera saber si las formas verbales «habían ido entendiendo» funcionan como perífrasis. La oración en que aparecen es: «Entre los dos habían ido entendiendo que eso que llamaban exilio, cárcel o dictadura tenía otro nombre más preciso, más duro, mucho más doloroso». ¡Gracias!

Respuesta: 

«Había ido entendiendo» es una perífrasis verbal formada por un verbo en forma personal (habían ido) y otro verbo en forma no personal o verboide (gerundio: entendiendo).
