Para nosotraos es muy común decir la frase "caer en cuenta" pero está bien dicha o se dice "caer en la cuenta"?

Hola:Esta locución puede emplearse con artículo o sin él. El uso mayoritario la prefiere con artículo, pero en algunos países de América está extendido el uso de 'caer en cuenta'. No debe olvidarse que siempre debe ir seguida de un complemento introducido por la preposición de.«Caí en (la) cuenta de que no había hecho las consultas necesarias».Saludos,El equipo de consultas
