¿Es correcto escribir «tan o más importante»? ¿Sólo puede apocoparse ‘tanto’ cuando precede inmediatamente al adjetivo o adverbio?

Respuesta: 

El adverbio tanto se apocopa ante adjetivo, adverbio o participio: La casa es tan hermosa como la tuya. No han llegado tan tarde como nosotros. Sentía vergüenza al llorar aunque fuera por motivo tan justificado. En el ejemplo de su consulta, la presencia del adjetivo después de tan es tácita: tan [importante] o más importante. No obstante, la expresión más natural es tan importante o más.
