Quisiera saber, pues no estoy seguro, si el verbo «cesar» cuando va seguido de un infinitivo puede llevar, además de la preposición ‘de’, también la preposición ‘en’. Ya sé que es correcto decir «Los estudiantes cesan DE estudiar». Pero me gustaría saber si, al igual que es correcto «Los estudiantes cesan EN sus estudios», se puede también decir «Los estudiantes cesan EN estudiar».

Respuesta: 

Cuando cesar significa 'dejar de hacer algo', se construye con un complemento con de seguido de un infinitivo, o con un complemento con en seguido de un nombre de acción.  Es decir, no es adecuado decir: *cesan en estudiar.
