Querría saber si es incorrecta la construcción de la frase siguiente. Sé que queda mejor cambiando podria por pude: Nunca jamás me podría imaginar, que seríamos amantes.

Respuesta: 

Según que el hecho de ser amantes haya ocurrido o no, se puede usar el verbo en condicional dentro de las correlaciones temporales siguientes:Nunca jamás me podría imaginar que fuéramos amantes. (Sentido hipotético, el hecho de ser amantes no ha ocurrido).Nunca jamás me habría podido imaginar que seríamos amantes. (Sentido hipotético en el pasado, el hecho de ser amantes ha ocurrido).
