Se escribe con h inicial: hincapié. Es una palabra formada por composición de hinca (del verbo hincar) y de pie. Hincar proviene de fincar y este del latín vulgar *figicāre 'fijar'; pie viene del latín pes, pedis. El significado de la palabra puede econtrarlo en un diccionario general de la lengua, por ejemplo en DRAE.
