Consulta: 

El título san que se antepone a las personas (no a los nombres de ciudades o lugares), ¿va con mayúscula o minúscula? Según el Diccionario panhispánico de dudas: «Como el resto de los tratamientos, las formas santo, santa o san se escriben con minúscula». Pero después, en la definición de la palabra papa, el Diccionario de la Real Academia dice: «Sumo Pontífice romano, vicario de Cristo, sucesor de San Pedro» (con mayúscula). ¿Entonces es con minúscula o mayúscula?

Respuesta: 

Se escribe con minúscula, tal como consta en el Diccionario panhispánico de dudas (2005) y en la nueva Ortografía de la lengua española (2010), publicaciones estas más recientes que la edición en línea del diccionario de la RAE, que data de 2001.
