Me gustarías saber si está aceptado usar el género femenino cuando hay mayoría de mujeres. Ejemplo: tres chicos y cuatro chicas, hola, chicas.

Respuesta: 

No, el género masculino es el inclusivo en español; es decir, si hay personas de ambos sexos, sin importar que la mayoría sean mujeres, deberá usar el masculino para incluir a todos: Hola, chicos. Si dijera chicas, estaría excluyendo a los varones presentes.
