¿Por qué a veces es correcto decir le dije que vaya en lugar de le dije que fuera?

Respuesta: 

La correlación temporal canónica exige que ambos verbos estén en pasado (le dije que fuera); no obstante, si para el momento de la enunciación la acción de ir aún no se ha realizado, es admisible el uso del presente. Ejemplo:Le dije (hace una hora) que vaya (mañana) a buscar el paquete.Le dije (hace una hora) que fuera (entonces) a buscar el paquete.
