Al consultar el diccionario, aparece la palabra descote como nombre masculino poco usado, y refiere a escote. Deseo saber si se dice descote y escote, como escotado y descotado refiriéndose a una abertura pronunciada en un vestido.

Respuesta: 

La acepción de descote considerada anticuada no es la que corresponde al sinónimo escote. Escote y descote se usan habitualmente, cada variedad lingüística tiene preferencia por alguna forma, pero ambas son adecuadas. De la misma manera, los verbos escotar y descotar, y sus participios, también en el uso adjetivo, se adecuan a los usos y costumbres de cada región.
