¿Cuál de las dos opciones es la correcta? Pedro, quien falleció el 21/11/11. Pedro, quien falleciera el 21/11/11.

Respuesta: 

Lo más adecuado es usar el pretérito perfecto simple (falleció), aunque el uso del pretérito imperfecto de subjuntivo (falleciera) con valor de p. p. simple (falleció) o de pluscuamperfecto de indicativo (había fallecido) es común en la lengua escrita, especialmente en la periodística. Este uso se debe a que la forma de imperfecto de subjuntivo en –ra proviene del pluscuamperfecto de indicativo latino. Con frecuencia se considera arcaizante, pero no incorrecto.
