¿Cuál es la forma correcta de expresarse «vamos por ellos» o «vamos a por ellos»?

Respuesta: 

Ambas formas son adecuadas; en América no se usa verbo de movimiento + la secuencia a por; en España conviven ambos usos. La razón de la unión de ambas preposiciones es impedir la posible ambigüedad: voy por ellos puede significar ir a causa de ellos o ir a buscarlos; voy a por ellos indica inequívocamente ir a buscarlos.
