Me encuentro con el siguiente formato para una cita en ingles: "XXXX XXXX XXXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXX XXX XXXXX XXXXXXXXXXX." — Author ¿Cuál es el formato correcto para una cita en español?

Respuesta: 

Se usan las comillas angulares para enmarcar citas textuales. El punto se coloca después de la comilla de cierre. Si la cita se expresa en estilo indirecto, no hacen falta marcas. Ejemplos:El escritor dijo: «El museo no será un refugio de extremistas, ni un ariete contra las Fuerzas Armadas».«El museo no será un refugio de extremistas, ni un ariete contra las Fuerzas Armadas», manifestó el escritor. El escritor dijo que el museo no sería un refugio de extremistas, ni un ariete contra las Fuerzas Armadas.Cuando la cita es extensa, lo que hoy se acostumbra en textos impresos es escribirla aparte, en un tipo de letra menor, con mayor sangría.
