Quisiera saber cómo se pronuncia correctamente esta palabra en nuestro idioma, ¿[at-leta] o [atle-ta]?

Respuesta: 

No existe una pronunciación más correcta que otra. En la mayor parte de España, la t suena muy atenuada, lo que no ocurre en América.
