¿Cuándo debo usar la contracción "del" en español? ¿Es correcto decir "el nivel del agua se encuentra ubicado dentro del asa" o es correcto decir el " nivel del agua se encuantra ubicado dentro de la asa"? Gracias.

Respuesta: 

Las preposiciones a y de siempre forman contacción con el artículo el, salvo si van dos contracciones consecutivas o si el artículo forma parte de un nombre propio (Pedro es de El Salvador). Lo correcto es: El nivel del agua se encuentra ubicado dentro del asa. Note que es el mismo caso de del agua en la misma oración. Note, además, que cuando el sustantivo es femenino -como asa-, si se interpone un adjetivo entre el artículo y el sustantivo, no se produce la contracción: El nivel del agua se encuentra ubicado dentro de la primera asa.
