Quisiera saber la regla que aplica a la palabra "vio" para que en los libros no le marquen tilde en la o.

Respuesta: 

Vio es un monosílabo. Los monosílabos no llevan tilde, excepto que se trate de una tilde diacrítica. En este caso no existe una palabra igual que cumpla una función distinta a la de forma verbal; por tanto no requiere tilde.
