¿Es adecuado decir la pego o le pego? ¿Por qué?

Respuesta: 

Lo adecuado es le pego. La pego es un laísmo no adecuado. En la acepción 'dar un golpe a alguien' el verbo pegar es transitivo. El complemento directo (muchas veces omitido) es un golpe, una paliza, una bofetada, etcétera. La persona a quien se pega está representada por un complemento indirecto y, por tanto, requiere para su sustitución el pronombre átono le. [Yo] le (duplicación de c. i.) pego (verbo) [un golpe (c. d.)] [a ella (c. i.)].
