Quisiera saber en qué casos se pueden usar las expresiones latinas "ad hoc" e "in statu quo".

Respuesta: 

Ad hoc se puede utilizar cuando corresponde a su significado: 'A propósito, para esto expresamente' : «En la empresa han creado un puesto ad hoc para el hijo del jefe».Statu quo proviene de la expresión diplomática In statu quo ante bellum, pero el latinismo es sin in. Suele emplearse con el significado de ‘estado de un asunto o cuestión en un momento determinado’, sobre todo en política: «Por utilizar las palabras de John Edwards en su discurso de la noche electoral en Iowa, es evidente quién ha perdido en los caucus de este estado: el statu quo. Y también quién ganó: el cambio. (ejemplo de una nota de prensa de un diario español)». Etiquetas: locuciones latinas, uso.
