Palabra sobre la que consulta:

En México se utiliza la palabra Pescado solo para aquellos peces que han sido atrapados y son para consumo. Normalmente se corrige a quien dice que tiene "equis número de pescados" en su pecera, diciendole que debe decir "Equis número de peces" ya que estan vivos. ¿Es esto correcto o una deformación? Si esw correcto entonces el "Pez Vela", auna vez para consumo debe llamarse "Pescado Vela"? ¿O son sinónimos y puede usarse indistintamente pez y pescado?
