La palabra "emprolijar" es usada como sinónimo de hacer algo prolijo, quiero saber si es correcta.

Respuesta: 

El verbo emprolijar no figura en ninguno de los diccionarios académicos ni del español general; se encuentra, sin embargo, en la base de datos del Instituto de Verbología Hispánica (http://www.verbolog.com/acceso7.php), el cual cita dos fuentes que registran el verbo, según las cuales se trata de un regionalismo de Argentina y Perú (Martha Hildebrandt, Peruanismos, Jaime Campodónico, Editor, Lima, 1994; Günther Haensch, Diccionario del español de la Argentina, Editorial Gredos, Madrid 2000). Esto implica que el uso del verbo es adecuado por lo menos en esos dos países americanos.
