Es una forma impersonal equivalente a la forma hay: no hay sujeto, por lo que estas formas verbales no admiten concordancia en número con las palabras en plural que las siguen, o sea con el complemento directo: «Hay muchos señores en la reunión», «Ha habido muchos señores en la reunión de ayer», «Hay montones de libros donde elegir», «Ha habido montones de libros para elegir esta mañana». Sin embargo, el hablante percibe el CD como sujeto y hace muchas veces la concordancia con él: «*Han habido muchos muertos en la guerra», etc. Sin embargo, muchos hablantes perciben como sujeto las palabras en plural que aparecen detrás del verbo (en los ejemplos: muchos señores, montones de libros) y hacen la concordanica con el verbo: «*Han habido muchos muertos en la guerra», etc.
