TENGO UN AMIGO QUE SUELE OMITIR EL ACENTO AL ESCRIBIR EN MAYÚSCULAS, AL CUESTIONARLO AL RESPECTO ME ASEGURA QUE NO ES NECESARIO USARLOS SI SE ESCRIBE ASÍ, OPINIÓN QUE NO COMPARTO. AGRADECERE UNA RESPUESTA O LA REGLA QUE LO AFIRME YA QUE NO LOGRO ENCONTRARLA

La normativa vigente prescribe la acentuación ortográfica de las mayúsculas, según la Ortografía de la Lengua Española de la RAE:4.10 Acentuación de letras mayúsculasLas mayúsculas llevan tilde si les corresponde según las reglas dadas. Ejemplos: África, PERÚ, Órgiva, BOGOTÁ. La Academia nunca ha establecido una norma en sentido contrario.
