Quisiera saber de que idioma viene la palabra CARITAS y qué significa en castellano.

Respuesta: 

Cáritas proviene del latín caritas, -atis, que significa 'amor, cariño', originalmente 'amor al prójimo como virtud cristiana', se derivó de la palabra carus 'querido'. En la actualidad bajo el nombre de Cáritas se entiende una organización humanitaria que agrupa a más de un centenar de organizaciones católicas dedicadas al trabajo de asistencia social.
