Tengo una duda con respecto al título «Por quién doblan las campanas», de Hemingway, título que en algunas editoriales aparece como «Por quien doblan las campanas», con ‘quien’ sin tilde. En este último caso, interpreto que se lo toma como una respuesta trunca: «(este es el hombre) Por quien doblan las campanas». ¿Son posibles ambas interpretaciones y, por lo tanto, ambos títulos?

Respuesta: 

Si se trata de una pregunta indirecta, corresponde la tilde (estamos ante un pronombre interrogativo); si es una subordinada, no la llevará (pronombre relativo). Ambas interpretaciones son posibles y dependerá de la intención del enunciador.
