¿Por qué si la palabra se usa con artículo masculino (el, un área) el adjetivo para la misma se usa en femenino?

Respuesta: 

Como hemos explicado en otras respuestas, el artículo que acompaña al sustantivo área, a pesar de tener una grafía idéntica al artículo determinado masculino singular, es una forma del artículo femenino la, y los adjetivos que acompañan a dicho sustantivo deben concordar en género y número con este.
