¿Solo lleva tilde o no?

Respuesta: 

Solo' puede ser adjetivo, como en "tengo un solo lápiz" o adverbio, como en "vino sólo una vez". Cuando es adverbio, siempre puede reemplazarse por "solamente". Cuando es adjetivo, siempre puede reemplazarse por "sin compañía" o "único".La tilde se utiliza en el adverbio sólo para distinguirlo del adjetivo. Sin embargo, la Academia Española recomienda emplearla exclusivamente cuando su ausencia pueda dar lugar a ambigüedad. Por ejemplo, la oración "Estaba solo a dos pasos de la puerta" es ambigua, porque puede significar "Estaba solamente a dos pasos de la puerta" y "Estaba sin compañía a dos pasos de la puerta". En este caso ambiguo, es necesario tildar sólo si se quiere decir solamente; no se debe tildar si se quiere decir sin compañía.
