¿Los infinitivos son sustantivos o verbos?

Respuesta: 

El infinitivo, el participio y el gerundio constituyen las formas verbales no finitas o verboides. Sintácticamente el infinitivo puede cumplir funciones de sustantivo.Ejemplo:Caminar es bueno para la salud. (El caminar es bueno para la salud). En esta oración el verboide caminar cumple función de sustantivo, razón por la cual es el núcleo del sujeto sintáctico.
