Esta palabra parece ser un uso extendido en al menos parte de Latinoamérica, incluyendo la prensa y literatura, sin embargo, no figura en la RAE. ¿Qué se sabe de su uso y etimología?

Respuesta: 

Se usa en algunos países de América. En el Diccionario de americanismos (2010) se define como ‘lugar en el que abundan rocas y peñascos’. Es un derivado bien formado por la aplicación del sufijo -erío (que indica conjunto) al sustantivo roca: roca + -erío > roquerío ‘conjunto de rocas’.
