Buenos días, quisiera conocer el origen de la palabra "mediterráneo".Muchas gracias.

Respuesta: 

El nombre del mar Mediterráneo, proviene del latín Mediterraneum Mare. Este nombre propio se formó a partir del adjetivo latino mediterraneus ('que está en medio de dos tierras' y también 'regiones centrales, distantes del mar'), que también dio lugar en español al adjetivo mediterráneo.
