Porque veedor proviene de veer, forma en desuso de ver, como puede apreciarse en esta cita de Alfonso X: «Mas el mi comer, et el mi bever es tal que los omes non lo pueden veer». (Alfonso X, General Estoria, Sexta parte, España 1284, p. 185R).
