Grito de algunas aves, como el cisne, el ganso, el cuervo, la urraca o la gaviota, entre otros. Evidentemente, todas estas aves emiten sonidos que difieren entre sí, pero el vocablo alude a un conjunto de sonidos poco agradables al oído. Metafóricamente se usa también para referirse a un canto tan desentonado y desafinado que recuerda el grito de las aves mencionadas.

Graznido está presente en nuestra lengua por lo menos desde el Vocabulario de Alfonso de Palencia (1490):

Clangor: propria mente es son de trompeta o el graznido del ansar por esto clangere es sonar rezio

Proviene del verbo graznar, formado a su vez del latín hispánico gracĭnare que, según Corominas (1980) estaba vinculado con las palabras del latín tardío gracitare y gracillare, del mismo origen onomatopéyico que graculus ‘grajo’.

EL MEDIEVALISMO DEL DÍA

Podrían por favor aclararme si las siguientes expresiones son correctas: «Por razón de...» o «En razón a...».

Las expresiones válidas son: «en razón de» o «en razón a», que se usan con el significado de 'a causa de', 'debido a', 'depeniendo de' o 'de acuerdo con', prefiriéndose «en razón de» en la lengua formal.
