"Agenda" es un participio del verbo latino "ago,ágere -egi - actum", hacer u obrar . La forma AGENDA , que es un plural del género neutro en latín , significa exactamente "cosas que hay que hacer"; es un caso parecido al de "hacienda" que significaba en origen "cosas que se deben hacer". Según Corominas en España se emplea desde 1855 , pero está tomada la voz del francés, lengua en la cual se utiliza desde 1640.
