¿Es necesario el desdoblamiento en femenino y masculino en los sustantivos, p. ej.: peruanos y peruanas, niños y niñas, o también todos y todas . Si es así, ¿se diría estudiantes y estudiantes?

Respuesta: 

No, no es necesario porque en español existe el género no marcado, el masculino, que es inclusivo. Sin embargo, en los últimos años se observa el uso cada vez más generalizado del desdoblamiento porque se considera que es «políticamente correcto». Como suele ocurrir en estos casos, las opiniones están claramente divididas: los que se decantan por su uso y los que piensan que  representa un empobrecimiento del lenguaje esmerado. Es importante aclarar que solo es posible emplearlo en palabras que poseen masculino y femenino; en las comunes en cuanto al género no habría razón para repetir la forma (por ejemplo, el caso de estudiante/estudiante).
