¿Se puede utilizar la palabra distinguir para referirse a que se conoce a una persona?, Gracias.

Respuesta: 

Los verbos distinguir y conocer no son sinónimos. Usted dirá, p. ej., Acabo de conocer a la profesora de inglés de mi hijo para expresar que la ve ahora por primera vez o que se la han presentado en ese momento. Pero Acabo de distinguir a la profesora de inglés de mi hijo significará que en ese momento, de entre el grupo de personas que usted divisa o que aparece en una foto, usted ha reconocido o ha diferenciado a la profesora de inglés.
