Según el diccionario de la RAE, la palabra «targiversar» no existe, sino que, en su lugar, el diccionario hace referencia a «tergiversar». Sin embargo, «targiversar» se escucha con mucha más frecuencia que «tergiversar», aún en registros elevados. ¿Se trata de un americanismo, argentinismo o, simplemente, de un barbarismo?

Respuesta: 

No tenemos registro del uso de ese vocablo en ningún diccionario ni en ningún corpus, en ningún medio ni en ningún registro. No está registrado en el Diccionario de americanismos. Nos llama la atención que en su entorno se use en el habla esmerada con la frecuencia que menciona, pero no haya absolutamente ningún registro. Debemos considerarlo un barbarismo.
