He visto que la palabra inglesa "cluster" se usa a veces en español, en lenguaje de computación y también de administración/negocios. Mi consulta es si se puede usar en relación con temas de las ciencias sociales, por ejemplo, «clústeres de pueblos» (people clusters).

Respuesta: 

Sí, su uso se extiende a las ciencias sociales y naturales. Note que por ser un extranjerismo que no ha sido castellanizado, corresponde escribirlo sin tilde y en cursiva: cluster y pluralizarlo como en su lenguaoriginal: clusters.
