Hectárea/hectáreas | 17/9/2013 | susi_zg@hotmail.com (1)P: Mi duda es si la abreviatura de hectárea, ha, es igual en plural y en singular. Por ejemplo, de 100 hectáreas, ¿cuál es la forma correcta: 1. 100 ha; 2. 100 has?

Respuesta: 

Las unidades de medida no se abrevian mediante abreviaturas (que llevan punto), sino mediante símbolos (carecen de punto de cierre). Los símbolos son invariables en número: m (metro, metros); g (gramo, gramos); kg (kilogramo, kilogramos); ha (hectárea, hectáreas), etc. Entonces: 100 ha es la representación abreviada de 100 hectáreas; obviamente si ha es el último término de una oración, habrá que coloar un punto, que no corresonde al símbolo, sino al cierre de oración. Ejemplos: Dividieron el terreno de 100 ha en tres partes iguales. El terreno colindante tiene aproximadamente 100 ha.
