A propósito del anuncio por parte de los familiares de Adolfo Suárez sobre su inminente fallecimiento, los titulares de los periódicos hablan que este suceso se producirá «de manera inminente» y estimo que la expresión no es adecuada, teniendo en cuenta el significado del adjetivo inminente y las posibles definiciones del nombre manera. Manera, modo, forma... no admiten el adjetivo inminente, creo yo. ¿Están ustedes de acuerdo?

Respuesta: 

Si se analizan los significados de los términos, la expresión de manera inminente está adecuadamente empleada. En una de sus acepciones, manera denota el ‘modo con que se ejecuta o acaece algo’, e inminente significa ‘que amenaza o está para suceder prontamente’, entonces decir la muerte se producirá de manera inminente equivale a decir que la muerte acaecerá prontamente.
