Consulta: 

Dado que en el DRAE y en el DPD no hallé respuesta, consulto acerca de cuál es el modo correcto: «la seccional» o «el seccional». «Sección» es femenino, sin embargo, me ofrece dudas dado el uso corriente en textos académicos de «el seccional».

Respuesta: 
El término seccional admite ambos géneros. Según el Diccionario de americanismos, el sustantivo es usado en algunos países de América como femenino (Colombia, Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay, Chile) y como masculino (Argentina, Uruguay, Chile).
