Consulta: 

En algún lugar académico leí que la palabra correcta en español para definir una persona con suerte era sortudo. Desde ese momento cambié la palabra usual suertudo por sortudo. ¿Podrían por favor aclararme esta duda?

Respuesta: 

Con el sentido de 'tener suerte' se emplean en el español general suertudo y afortunado. Además de estos términos, en algunas zonas (p. ej., en Venezuela) se usa sortario con el mismo significado. Sortudo es el correspondiente término en portugués.
